It seems the Paulo Diaz saga could soon come to and end.
The Argentine media continues to have daily updates on River Plate’s chase for the player, while a few outlets keep saying Crystal Palace could still land him.
Today, Argentine outlet TyC says Al Ahli will meet and decide about Diaz’s future. He hasn’t returned from his vacations after the Copa America, and was left out of the Asia Champions League squad.
It’s claimed the Saudi club will decide this Friday if they accept River Plate’s US$3m for 50% of his rights.
Meanwhile, Chilean outlets such as Dinamo and Al Aire Libre cover these claims, and add that Crystal Palace still want him.
Just yesterday, we covered claims from South America saying the Selhurst Park side would have no problems to afford the right-back’s US$5m release clause, and that would be the best deal for Al Ahli.
But it sounds like Palace are still to make a move for Diaz, and if River Plate’s offer is accepted tomorrow, perhaps it means the interest from the Premier League side never really existed.
