Jorge Mendes is continuing his efforts to get Cristiano Ronaldo out of Manchester United and to Napoli in a swap deal for Victor Osimhen, but his involvement in the deal is frustrating the latter.
That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by Calcio Napoli 24, who cover the situation around Ronaldo today.
He’s determined to leave Old Trafford before the end of the window but Manchester United and his agent, Mendes, have found it difficult to find a suitor for him.
One of the options presented has been a swap deal with Napoli, with reports in Italy making it clear that the Italian side would do a deal if they were to receive €120m and United pay the vast majority of Ronaldo’s wages.
It’s a deal that’s yet to take off but Mendes has been weaving his web trying to work out the intricacies to unblock it.
TuttoSport say that Mendes is ‘ready to return to the charge’ with Napoli and get a deal over the line as Ronaldo wants to leave Old Trafford.
He has ‘not thrown in the towel’ on a possible swap deal for Osimhen, although the Nigerian is not all that keen on the switch.
It remains to be seen whether Mendes can convince the striker, who has made it clear he would like to stay in Napoli and play in the Champions League.
He and his agents do not like ‘Mendes’ excessive intrusiveness’, believing that he will eventually demand a percentage of Osimhen’s transfer to Manchester United if it goes through.
That is naturally something they don’t like and is very much considered ‘unwelcome’, the suggestion being Mendes’ insistence could stop a deal from happening at all.
