Marca are going full steam ahead on Johnathan Calleri to Las Palmas and say his move from West Ham is expected to be announced ‘today or tomorrow’.
The Spanish newspaper say the financials have been agreed between Deportivo Maldonado, the sham Uruguayan club used as a vehicle for player investment, and Las Palmas.
Calleri himself is also said to have agreed his own term with Las Palmas, and is eager to leave West ham to get more minutes on the pitch. Calleri hasn’t enjoyed prominence under Slaven Bilic and has been edging towards the West Ham exit door for a while.
Las Palmas looks to be a good option for Calleri to get his career back on track, but in Brazil it’s insisted the player isn’t keen on that move and would prefer a return to Sao Paulo.
On Monday it was claimed the Las Palmas move would be called off, because Calleri isn’t keen.
It’s all contradiction on the current West Ham player, but there’s every possibility his people have been saying one thing to Sao Paulo and doing quite another.
