Andreas Weimann is flying.

Five goals in five Championship appearances for Bristol City haven’t been flukes, with the striker’s all-round performances also impressing.

It’s a big career boost for the Austrian after a difficult time spent at Derby County, and he’s been speaking to his home country’s media about the great start to life at Bristol.

Kronen Zeitung quote the 27 year old as saying: “I always have the ability to score goals. Only in the last four years I haven’t been allowed to play centrally.”

The Austrian newspaper says everything has changed for Weimann since the move from Derby to Bristol, and the player says he’s feeling “extremely good” with the current situation.

Kronen Zeitung point out that last year Weimann had a special event marrying long time girlfriend Jennifer, who he met whilst playing for Aston Villa, and that now his aim must be to get the same boost in his career.

On the aim of promotion, the Bristol star says: “Obviously promotion to the Premier League would be insane.”

On potentially playing 46 Championship games this season, Weimann said: “I’m used to it. What could be better than playing? Sometimes there is only one real training per week, the rest is regeneration.”

Finally, the in-form footballer makes it clear he wants things to continue the way they are: “Now I want to ride the wave of success, as long as possible!

“I used to work hard on wings, supplied teammates. Now I can reap in the middle.”
