Le Parisien report Manchester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton sent scouts to the U15s Vinci Cup at the weekend.

The competition run by Paris FC is now attracting scouts from across Europe.

This year’s competition was won by Portuguese giants FC Porto, with Manchester City also entering a team. Ligue 1 sides PSG, Rennes, Marseille, Caen, Le Havre and Lille were involved, which has helped to raise the profile of the tournament.

The French newspaper have confirmed Manchester City, Wolves and Southampton were attendance this weekend and they were joined by fellow Premier League clubs Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United.

There are no reports who Wolves and Southampton were watching, but there are claims Manchester City have an eye on Montfermeil central defender Steven Mbongo. The 14 year old is also been tracked by French side Angers.

It’s now not uncommon for Premier League clubs to attend youth competitions like the Vinci Cup as they expand their scouting networks across Europe, looking to pick up the best young talent.

Liverpool, Chelsea and the Manchester clubs have scouts at nearly all such events, so Wolves and Southampton being there is perhaps more interesting.
