Not a day goes by without there being a claim in the Italian media on Allan and Everton.
Monday sees an exclusive report from CalcioNapoli24, and they start by making it clear the midfielder’s days at Napoli are coming to an end.
The Brazilian has had a difficult time under Gennaro Gattuso and there’s no real connection with the club any longer. It’s even claimed fans have ‘lost confidence in his qualities’, because he hasn’t had his usual consistency this season.
On a contract lasting until 2023, Allan is paid €2m (after tax) per season, which shouldn’t prove too big a problem for the Toffees. Indeed, Everton are the only club named as being seriously interested, and it’s stated Carlo Ancelotti has ‘explicitly requested’ his club sign the midfielder.
Everton are in ‘pole position’, and CalcioNapoli24 say the asking price is €40m, however, and this is key, they then state Allan ‘could leave even for a lower figure’.
That all sounds much more realistic than some of the claims in recent weeks. Ancelotti wanting Allan makes sense, and if he could be signed for not much over €30m, then the whole deal starts to look very attractive.
