This morning, we covered an article from Marca which said that Sevilla had rejected Sunderland’s £7m offer for Vicente Iborra.
The Marca claims contradicted what was said by Sky Sports earlier, since the English outlet claimed that the Black Cats’ bid had been accepted.
But AS has some information which presents another way. They say Sevilla had accepted the transfer, which was agreed to be at a fee of €9m, but Iborra himself is the one who rejected it.
The player reportedly wants to stay at the Spanish club and called the transfer off. According to AS, the move was only lacking the medicals to be done.
They claim that David Moyes will now have to look for other options for Sunderland’s midfield. Iborra’s contract at Sevilla runs until 2020.
