Everton may have been handed their route to sign Udinese striker Beto this summer, with a departure ‘already budgeted’ by the Italian side.

That’s according to Messaggero Veneto, who cover the striker today and Udinese’s careful planning in terms of his recovery from injury as they look to ensure there are suitors for him at the end of the season.

The newspaper explains that Beto returned to the squad on Tuesday, with the Italian side now debating whether to use him in their remaining three games or avoid the risk and leave him out.

Their fear is that they could risk another muscle injury by making him play, and thus ‘jeopardise’ a profitable sale in the summer.

The club believe the striker will be on his way at the end of the season, particularly as Everton, who pushed hard to sign him at the end of the January transfer window, still need to sign a striker regardless of what division they are in.

The big concern is a muscular injury that ‘brings back’ the ghosts of a serious muscle injury that he suffered in his right thigh against Venice in April 2022, when he tore the muscle and then worsened it by returning too soon.

Udinese want to avoid a repeat of that incidence, despite Andrea Sottil being keen to have him back in his squad for the remainder of the season.

Their idea is instead to leave him out and not risk anything, hoping that Everton step forward again, or someone else arrives, to offer the big sale that they’re looking for.

The Toffees will want to be careful, though, with Udinese’s concern something they should share and a thorough medical necessary before any move for Beto this summer.
