Marca continue their excitement over the impending arrival of Brahim Diaz at Real Madrid.
The Spanish newspaper have been reporting on the transfer for some months, and over the past week or so it’s gained more attention in England.
The original idea was for a summer free transfer, but there’s been some eagerness to get the Manchester City player in the winter market.
That’s for several reasons. Real Madrid want to secure him, he wants to secure his future at Madrid, and there’s been a worry that spending the rest of the season at City would see him ostracised and wouldn’t help development.
Sunday’s edition of Marca says the transfer is ‘almost there’, without detailing any figures for the winter move.
It’s stated Diaz has long wanted to be a Real Madrid player, despite pressures from several other clubs during his young career, including Barcelona.
The move is ‘close to being confirmed’, with Diaz and his family then set to move back to Spain.
