Tottenham Hotspur seem to be getting closer towards sealing a deal for Sporting’s Pedro Porro in January, according to multiple claims from Portugal.
On Wednesday, there were several meetings between Spurs, the Lions and intermediaries to close the deal, but they were not able to find an agreement.
O Jogo relays this and explains Tottenham have not yet reached the €45m fee requested by Sporting.
It’s claimed a new meeting is scheduled today and there could be an agreement, given Spurs’ urgency to have the right-back at the club.
The report explains all parties involved in the deal have ‘almost absolute confidence’ that Porro will end up at the north London club. Antonio Conte has been a great admirer of the Spaniard and Tottenham chief Fabio Paratici is completely committed to fulfilling the manager’s wish.
It’s claimed the agreement between Spurs and Sporting for his transfer is well underway.
Sporting would be keen to have Porro in their squad to face FC Porto in the cup final on Saturday. Conte’s side, however, would not be in favour of this as they want to avoid the player picking up an injury.
