It’s alive!
We have good new from Catalonia for Arsenal fans who want the club to sign Denis Suarez.
Mundo Deportivo states on Tuesday lunchtime: ‘Barça reactivates the transfer of Denis to Arsenal – The two clubs have resumed negotiations and the player could leave after signing his renewal.’
After talks collapsed last week, for a transfer which at one stage seemed close, Mundo Deportivo explains it’s all been restarted.
There’s a ‘new chapter’ in the potential deal, and now Denis moving to the Premier League club before Thursday’s deadline is seen as very feasible.
In fact, it’s stated the transfer could be sealed ‘in the next few hours’ should talks continue positively.
Barcelona would agree to loan the player to Arsenal for a €2m fee and the Gunners would have an option to sign him in the summer. That option would be on the English club’s side, so wouldn’t be mandatory.
Should Arsenal not take up their option then Denis’ contract would be extended by what sounds like a year, rather than the three years which Barcelona originally wanted.
Update: Edo Polo, the Mundo journalist who wrote the story, has since tweeted that whilst there are still a few details to be sorted, he considers it done.
Quedan detalles por cerrar, pero ya está hecho. Denis Suárez renueva primero hasta 2021y se marcha cedido al Arsenal. Sin opción de compra obligatoria https://t.co/qwGjZtI70N
