Ezgjan Alioski to Leeds United has dragged on so long it’s even outlived the Samu Saiz claims. When Alioski rumours started, Felix Wiedwald hadn’t even been linked to the Championship club, and now it feels like the goalkeeper signed for them a while ago.
There’s been no rushing into a deal for Lugano’s Alioski and the player’s agents haven’t been keen to encourage transfer rumours with Leeds United or anyone else. With the Swiss media not hugely excited about the potential move either, it’s led to a lot of silence over the past couple of weeks or so.
Now there appears to be an actual update. Swiss newspaper laRegione quotes Lugano manager Pier Tami as saying: “It’s true that negotiations with an English club could end in a positive way. Let’s wait for a decision shortly.”
The English club is named as Leeds United by laRegione, and Alioski is just one piece of transfer business Lugano are trying to sort out, so there doesn’t appear to be a great need to rush.
In light of new claims, worth reiterating Monday's Italian claim that Ekuban – Leeds is pretty much done. #LUFC #MOT https://t.co/LIMoLgKPPv pic.twitter.com/yNJCBxFoFx
