West Ham United and AS Monaco have struck an agreement for defender Thilo Kehrer, with him set to join on loan until the end of the season, with a purchase clause included for the Ligue 1 side.

That’s according to journalists Santi Aouna and Loïc Tanzi, who say the two clubs have reached an agreement for the defender to leave the London Stadium.

Kehrer has barely featured for West Ham this season after being a regular last year following his move from Paris Saint Germain.

That led to increased speculation over December that he could be set to leave West Ham, with sides in Germany, France and Spain all reportedly keen on him.

Monaco have jumped to the front of that queue over the last week or so and now it seems are set to get their man.

Aouna reports that they have struck an agreement with West Ham for a loan deal, which will include a purchase option for the summer.

Tanzi backs that up, but states that Monaco have reached a verbal agreement with West Ham in the last few hours for Kehrer to arrive on loan.

As far as he is aware the two sides are yet to put the agreement into writing or exchange documents but that is now the next step before the defender can then head for a medical examination and sign his loan deal.

For now it’s at the ‘agreement reached’ stage, which in itself is a big step forward and hints Kehrer will be leaving the London Stadium as expected.
