Despite initial reports saying the Chelsea forward Nathan would be presented by Belenenses this weekend, it seems the move will take a little longer than expected.
On Tuesday, Portuguese outlet O Jogo said the player was in Lisbon to sign for Belenenses on a loan deal, and despite saying the transfer would be made official the day after, it hasn’t happened so far.
Now the newspaper comes up with a reason for it, blaming the bureaucracy for the delay in the announcement.
They say that the Chelsea owned player has already had his medical for Belenenses, but is still waiting for some documents before signing the deal.
Nathan was signed by Chelsea from Atletico Paranaense on a €4m deal in 2015, but hasn’t been given the opportunity to make a go of his Stamford bridge career yet.
The 21-year-old had a loan spell at Dutch side Vitesse between 2015 and 2017, and spent the first part of the current season playing in France for Amiens.
