Things aren’t looking quite so desperate at Arsenal, after they got all three points in their last match against London rivals Chelsea.
Mikel Arteta clearly has a big job on his hands to achieve any kind of success this season, and it’s likely he’ll be keen on trying to improve his squad in the January window.
This has seen Arsenal dragged into the Christian Eriksen saga, with Inter Milan putting the former Tottenham man on the market. Moving to Milan in the last winter window, the Denmark international hasn’t been able to have the desired impact and isn’t considered a key player by Antonio Conte.
Monday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport says there’s been no offer from the Gunners yet, but ‘agents close to Arsenal’ have hinted that an attempt is on the way for Eriksen.
Those agents have presumably informed Inter Milan of this, and that’s why the Serie A club have been considering the possibility of either Granit Xhaka or Dani Ceballos going the other way.
Both deals would be difficult to achieve in January, yet Xhaka would be easier given Ceballos is only on loan with Arsenal from Real Madrid.
