On Tuesday, we covered claims from Italy saying Cardiff City have made an offer for Roma striker Patrick Schick.
Tutto Mercato Web claimed the Premier League side were offering €2m for a loan deal, plus a bonus of €1m if they don’t get relegated. The deal would also include a buying option of €30m.
Now Gianluca Fiorini, who’s identified as a ‘prosecutor and market intermediary of the Welsh club’, has been interviewed by the Italian media. And besides confirming the offer, he actually had a go at Roma’s board.
The official has spoken to Radio Radio, and the quotes brought by Giallorossi.net show he’s pretty mad with Roma for not responding to the bid.
“Three days ago I was called by the Cardiff coach and he told me that they were trying for a striker after Sala’s tragedy. I told him there could be an opportunity to get Schick on loan from Roma. After two hours he called me back, he told me that he was very interested and gave me an official mandate with an onerous loan offer with a right of redemption,” Fiorini told Radio Radio (via Giallorossi.net).
“An important offer in my opinion: two million immediately, one in May and a redemption option of 30 million pounds that could become mandatory if the player scored 10 goals before May. Yesterday morning I sent an email to Baldissoni presenting this offer and asking for a kind reply. To date I have not had any feedback, so I assume there is no interest from Roma. I agree with you, he could have answered, but Baldissoni is quite arrogant as a person.”
In case the claims are true, it would indeed be quite bad mannered from Baldissoni to ignore a club who are going through such a difficult time late in the transfer window.
