The midfielder returned to the Merseyside club after spending last season on loan at Lille and hasn’t made an appearance for the Toffees this season.

Milliyet state the Everton player’s agent has offered him to Fenerbahçe as they can sign him before the Turkish window closes on Friday.

The Yellow Canaries have been trying to sign Al-Musrati but are unable to convince SC Braga to sanction the deal. This has seen the Istanbul club shift their focus to Gomes ‘at the last minute’.

It’s said that Fenerbahçe, who have just over a day left, don’t want to rush to ‘make a hasty decision and make a useless transfer.’

Kartal has also insisted Fenerbahçe could reconsider strengthening his side’s midfield in the next window.

“As the transfer windows were closed in many places, quality players remained in their teams. We currently have Crespo for that position. We don’t need to do it just to make a transfer,” he said, as quoted by Milliyet.

“This squad is enough for me. We can make a more comprehensive study for quality names and add them to our squad during the interim transfer period.”

Gomes has a year left on his deal and may have to wait until January for a move away from Everton. Unless the agent can work some magic…
