Atalanta’s Franck Kessie is reportedly on the wish-list of several top European clubs, after his brilliant start to the season. In England, Manchester City have been strongly linked with a move for the Ivorian midfielder, and Tottenham, whilst Juventus are also keen on signing the 19-year-old.
However, it now appears Liverpool have taken the most concrete steps to sign Kessie. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Kessie’s agent, George Atangana, is set to visit Liverpool next week.
Atangana will also meet representatives of Juventus, before making a final decision. Gazzetta say a move to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool could be very tempting for Kessie, but he is equally open to the idea of signing for Juventus.
Juventus are keen on signing Kessie in January, and have already met his agent in the past.
Atalanta reportedly want €25m for Kessie, and Gazzetta expect things to be clearer in the coming days.
Liverpool interest in Kessie may be surprising, as they already have Emre Can and Jordan Henderson in a similar position, but the chance of playing under Klopp could be very tempting for Kessie.
