It seems Manchester United are not really in the race to sign Brazilian forward Richarlison from Fluminense.
Reports from the Italian press recently claimed that José Mourinho’s side would be providing competition for AC Milan, who are keen on the 20-year-old.
The claims had a quick impact in the Brazilian press, as the local outlets are pretty aware that big clubs have been following the youngster.
But Sport Witness managed to speak to the player’s agent, Renato Velasco, who dismissed these rumours for now. Asked if there was contact from Manchester United, he said: “Not to me. I think it’s speculation from the market.”
Richarlison got close to joining Brazilian side Palmeiras earlier this year in a €10m deal, and according to ESPN, after having a €9m bid rejected in January, Ajax are currently in negotiations with a €12m bid.
Further sources told Sport Witness that €12m should be enough to take him, so should ESPN’s info be correct, Ajax will be very close to winning the race.
