Turkish football agent Fazil Ozdemir believes Besiktas star Cenk Tosun is worth €60m if other forwards like Vincent Aboubakar are valued in this region.
Tosun has made a stunning start to the season with the Turkish champions, and he’s been linked with a move to Newcastle United in recent weeks.
Sporx have reported on comments Ozdemir made when speaking about the Newcastle United target: “If Aboubakar is €50m, then Cenk is 60…”
Despite this bold statement from Ozdemir, Sporx say Besiktas realistically would be looking for offers in the region of €20m for Tosun, which would still see break the record for a Turkish league player heading to Europe.
In recent weeks Newcastle United have revived their interest in Tosun, with claims they could be lining up a bid for the 26 year old ahead of the next window. The Premier League side tried to sign the player in the summer, but they failed with a £8m bid.
Newcastle United recently sent scouts to get a lowdown on the Besiktas attacker during Turkey’s recent internationals against Iceland and Finland, but they will face competition to sign Tosun with AC Milan, Wolfsburg and Crystal Palace all showing an interest.
