The agent of Manchester City’s Yaya Toure has told the Italian media his client would be open to a move to Serie A in the summer. The Ivorian will be out of contract with Manchester City at the end of the season, and there have been no signs yet the Premier League side will offer him an extension.
Speaking to TMW, Dimitri Seluk was asked if a move to Italy in the summer would appeal to Toure. Seluk said they can’t rule out a move to Serie A because it’s a good league to play in. Seluk believes because of Toure’s age he can replicate what Andrea Pirlo did at Juventus.
“Certainly, why not? Yaya is fine and the Italian league is important. He could do what Pirlo did. Despite many harbouring doubts, instead he demonstrated for years his great value,” said the player’s agent.
Toure has an uncertain future at Manchester City although he has been brought back into the fold by manager Pep Guardiola. Despite his earlier issues with the Manchester City boss, Toure is now a used member of the squad, helped in part by injury to İlkay Gündoğan.
However, Manchester City are likely to make signings in the next window, and Toure’s time at the club may be coming to an end.
