‘€1m to me, and Aleksandar Mitrovic is yours.’ That’s what agent Nenad Jestrovic has told the Besiktas board about a Newcastle United transfer, at least according to FotoSpor.
The Newcastle United forward’s agent has met with Besiktas’ official Umut Guner, and Fotospor say during that meeting Jestrovic informed Guner a €1m agent fee would help to seal a deal to bring Mitrovic to Besiktas.
Jestrovic allegedly also confirmed he’s held meetings with Newcastle United and that the Premier League club would allow Mitrovic to leave if they can bring in a replacement.
Along with Besiktas, Fenerbahçe are keeping close tabs on the player, and the Turkish club’s new manager Aykut Kocaman believes he could be an ideal signing for the club.
Mitrovic found himself in and out of the Newcastle United team last season due to the form of top scorer Dwight Gayle. Rafael Benitez will want to strengthen his squad during the summer window, which could add further doubt to the player’s future at the club.
Mitrovic is currently away with the Serbia national team, and the Newcastle United forward scored against Wales at the weekend.
