Greek website Sdna.Gr claims super agent Jorge Mendes has offered Olympiacos a chance to sign Aston Villa forward Anwar El Ghazi in this transfer window.
The Dutchman is currently on loan with the Championship side from Ligue 1 side Lille, with it being thought there’s a buying clause.
The Greek club are looking for reinforcements this summer after losing the league title to PAOK, and El Ghazi is said to be an option. Olympiacos have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks, including Manchester United attacker Tahith Chong.
El Ghazi’s future is likely to depend on Villa’s bid for promotion bid with Dean Smith’s side facing Derby County in the Championship play-off final next week.
There have been recent reports there is also interest from Premier League clubs. A return to Lille is thought to be unlikely, and the French club would surely prefer a permanent exit over another loan.
El Ghazi has played 35 games for Aston Villa this season, scoring six goals. The Dutch winger’s contract with Lille expires in June 2021.
