According to Haber Global, Besiktas have identified Huddersfield Town striker Steve Mounie as a target.
It’s reported the Turkish club want to sign a forward this month and Bologna’s Federico Santander is also an option. Recent reports also linked Everton’s Cenk Tosun to the Istanbul side.
Haber Global claim the Benin international wants to leave Huddersfield Town as he no longer wants to play in the Championship.
The 25 year old has been offered to other Turkish clubs by his agent, according to the claims, but the player is only interested in offers from the Super Lig’s major sides.
It’s understood that Besiktas are trying to loan him for free, however, the Terriers won’t accept that kind of deal.
Mounie was linked with a move to Besiktas last summer but a transfer never materialised. He ended up staying at Huddersfield Town where he’s made 14 appearances and scored three goals this season.
His contract will expire at the end of June 2021 so the Championship side may need to make a decision about his future.
