On Thursday morning, journalist Diego Firmino wrote on Twitter that Liverpool are interested in Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo.
It was claimed that the Reds, as well as Tottenham Hotspur, are keeping an eye on the player and could make a move before the end of the transfer window.
Despite seeing that, we’ve been waiting for a more reliable source to talk about it, and journalist Jorge Nicola now comes up with his story.
Following the claims of Liverpool’s interest, the reporter got in touch with Thiago Salles, who’s one of the agents who takes care of Danilo’s career.
It turns out the representative dismissed the reports as fake news, and claimed that Danilo would only leave Nottingham Forest next summer.
“There are no polls from any club. We imagine that if Danilo has a good season, he can be targeted by clubs a year from now,” Salles told Nicola.
Nottingham Forest spent €20m to sign Danilo from Palmeiras in January, and Transfermarkt now values the player at €28m.
The player had a good first few months at the club, and if things continue going well, then Liverpool or any other interested club should need to spend a lot more to get him signed in the future.
