As reported by Calcio Mercato this Monday, AC Milan have put together a list of strikers who they could try to sign during the next transfer window.
The names would include Andrea Belotti, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Eden Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku.
The addition of the Everton player to Milan’s wishlist is a big change from what had been reported a few months ago, when he was still a big target for their rivals Juventus.
Milan seem to have a more ambitious project now, and according to Calcio Mercato, would be counting on Mino Raiola’s good will to bring Lukaku to the club.
The Rossoneri would be creating a better relationship with the agent during the renewal of the goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma’s contract.
This is Milan’s idea of ‘dreaming high’ again, as at least three of these options wouldn’t be cheap. What’s not mentioned is the players’ will to join the club.
It’s unthinkable Lukaku would leave Everton for a club not challenging for Champions League qualification and not challenging for a league title. AC Milan are currently 8th in Serie A, and whilst it would seem inevitable they’ll one day get back to the top of Italian football, that day isn’t now.
