Two days ago, the Daily Mail reported West Bromwich Albion are considering a move for Celta Vigo’s Okay Yokuşlu.
It was also explained there is an open negotiation between the two clubs for the defensive midfielder’s loan transfer.
AS have relayed the claims made in England and provide their own information on a potential move in the winter market.
Yokuşlu’s agent Batur Altiparmak confirmed to AS there is an open negotiation going on between the Baggies and Celta for the 26-year-old.
Renato Tapia’s arrival at the club last summer saw Yokuşlu disappear from Óscar García’s plans after making two starts in the first month of this season.
García was replaced by Eduardo Coudet in November, and the latter tried to get the best out of the Turkey international. However, he ‘left much to be desired’.
The midfielder will have a tough time to make it to the Euro 2020 if he continues at Celta Vigo. Hence, an opportunity to join West Brom on a loan deal in the winter market will help him feature regularly.
Altiparmak also revealed three European clubs are considering signing his client, but for now, ‘those ideas do not forge’.
AS state West Brom offer the Spanish club an ‘unexpected possibility’ to lower their wage bill, which is necessary to fulfil Coudet’s demand to sign a new forward.
Yokuşlu’s temporary move to The Hawthorns could improve his chances of featuring regularly. Whether or not he will end up at the English club in January remains to be seen.
