The agent of Southampton forward Manolo Gabbiadini has told the Italian media his client will be remaining with the Premier League club next season.
Gabbiadini struggled in his second season with Southampton, leading to speculation he could find a new club this summer.
Speaking to Sky Italia, via TMW, Silvio Pagliari said: “Gabbiadini definitely stays at Southampton, and we have to overturn last year’s performance in which we did not do very well. The team suffered a lot: a few goals, a very strange championship despite being very strong.”
Pagliari added about the interested clubs: “A few requests from Italian clubs came but he feels at the top in the Premier League, also for how football is lived. It’s another world.”
When Gabbiadini joined Southampton in January 2017 there were promising signs. The player scored on his debut against West Ham, and then followed this up with two goals in the EFL Cup final defeat to Manchester United.
However, the goals dried up last season, and the Italy international found the net just 5 times in 28 Premier League games.
The Southampton player has been linked with the likes of Bologna and Lazio in recent months, but its seems he’ll be staying at St Mary’s for another season.
