Over the weekend, Calciomercato reported that Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer has changed agents and is no longer managed by Tore Pedersen.
It was also explained the Norway international’s affairs were now being looked at by SEG (Sports Entertainment Group), an agency that manages the likes of Lyon star Memphis Depay, Ajax’s Daley Blind and others.
Norwegian outlet Nettavisen got in touch with Pedersen and he has now confirmed the Italian outlet’s report.
Pedersen also revealed his desire was to extend his association with the Norway international, but didn’t explain why the two chose to part ways.
“My contract with Kris expired in May. Kristoffer must answer (why he decided to change agents),” said Pedersen.
“Yes of course [I wanted to extend the contract with Ajer]. Kris is a brilliant guy and a very good centre-back who I have followed since he was 15 years old. I wish him all the best in the future. Then Kris gets to answer his choice, if he wants to.”
Earlier in March, Pedersen admitted his former client is looking to leave the Scottish champions this summer and there are several clubs interested in the centre-back.
With the confirmation from Pedersen that Ajer has indeed changed agents, it’s likely that Neil Lennon’s man would be looking to leave Celtic this summer.
Calciomercato’s report from Saturday also explained that Leicester City, Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan are interested in Ajer and it was stated the Serie A side hope to beat competition for his signing.
