Trabzonspor’s young goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir is being tracked by Liverpool, according to the player’s agent Erdi Kirkpinar.
The 23 year old goalkeeper, who has been in impressive form this season, has caught the attention of European clubs and Kirkpinar has told Ajansspor that Liverpool have contacted him: “Every team have scouts and some of them are following Ugurcan’s matches. Schalke haven’t made an official offer for him.
“I know Lille and Schalke are following him. Liverpool are also interested in him. Liverpool officials have talked with us, we had some contacts, but no official offer has come from them.”
Jurgen Klopp could be looking to bring in a back-up goalkeeper to Alisson if Simon Mignolet leaves the Premier League club during the summer transfer window.
Cakir has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Turkish Super Lig this season and he recently got a call-up to the Turkish national team.
The youngster is under contract with the Super Lig club until June 2021.
