The agent of Emanuele Giaccherini has apologised to Torino after his client snubbed a move to the Serie A side. Giaccherini today signed Napoli from Sunderland.
Speaking to TMW, Furio Valcareggi was asked about Giaccherini’s move to Napoli despite the attentions of Torino. Valcareggi said he’s already said sorry to the sporting director of Torino after holding extensive talks with him, and also plans to make contact with the club’s president.
The player’s agent realises his behaviour was unacceptable, but believes Napoli is the right move for Giaccherini.
“I apologised to Petrachi and I will do so with Cairo. I repeat, I misbehaved but Napoli will give other opportunities. Buying Giaccherini at around one million and a half was a total bargain,” said Valcareggi.
After months of speculation Giaccherini has finally got his wish, and has permanently returned to his home country, following his loan spell with Bologna last season.
After Valcareggi making his apologies to Torino, Sunderland may be waiting for their own over a transfer wish promised so much but failed to deliver.
