Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven wanted to sign Tahith Chong in the summer, but the 19-year-old turned down approaches from two clubs in order to continue at Manchester United.
Speaking to Voetbal International in September, the winger admitted he felt staying at Old Trafford was ‘best’ for his career, despite having opportunities to move elsewhere.
He has made four appearances for Manchester United this season, which includes a place in the starting lineup in the Europa League and the EFL Cup.
Votebal International takes a look at the player’s contract situation with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, which expires at the end of the season.
It’s claimed United have not come up with a new proposal or a sporting plan for Chong and unless and until that happens, the winger has no plans of signing an extension with his current employer.
The Dutch magazine adds the Premier League side doesn’t have plans to use Chong a lot this season, and his current situation at United has caught attention of top European clubs, including Juventus.
They also had a brief chat with his agent, who made the situation clear: “It is true that top clubs keep an eye on the situation around Tahith. But it’s still early in the season. We are quietly waiting to see what United will come up with or else we will see what is best for Tahith’s development next summer,” Erkan Alkan said.
