New Fenerbahce boss Dick Advocaat wants Newcastle United’s Siem De Jong, according to Turkey’s Sporx, and Sunderland’s Jeremain Lens, according to AMK Spor, to bolster his attacking options.
The 64-year old told club president Aziz Yildirim to sign Newcastle’s Siem de Jong, a player he knows very well, and another Dutchman Jeremain Lens.
Former Ajax captain De Jong is not enjoying his Newcastle spell, and made only 5 Premier League starts over two seasons.
After Newcastle’s relegation to the Championship, he has another reason to leave. Fenerbahce don’t want him permanently due to the past two seasons, and injury worries, so a loan deal is the best option for them.
De Jong may be keen to play at Fenerbahce, a team who already have his former Dutch international teammates Robin van Persie and Gregory van der Wiel.
Advocaat also wants Jeremain Lens from Sunderland as Fenerbahce only have 2 wingers in their squad. Advocaat wants to play a 4-3-3 formation and believes Lens is the player who can get the best out of van Persie.
Fenerbahce want to loan him because of the FFP rules and it’s understood new manager David Moyes doesn’t stand his way if he wants to move.
