Despite him being reluctant to do so, Arthur is swapping Barcelona for Juventus, in a deal which will see Miralem Pjanić go the other way.
Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo report that during the negotiations, Barca raised the prospect of taking Pablo Moreno back to the Camp Nou. He’d left them for Juve in 2018, and it was seen as a good chance to take the 18 year old striker back to the club.
However, they didn’t bargain for Manchester City becoming involved in the tussle, and it’s now accepted that’s where the youngster will be moving to. Pep Guardiola’s current side managed to beat his old one, and the move is presented as being agreed.
It’s been reported elsewhere that the Premier League club are swapping Felix Correia for Moreno, so one youngster for another, with the deal expected to be finalised quickly.
Juventus were receptive to the idea of Moreno being part of the Arthur/Pjanic deal, and it appears Manchester City got in there before it could really get off the ground.
