Last week, the Italian press were convinced that West Ham were falling firmly behind Napoli in their chase for AC Milan’s Yunus Musah.
Napoli were making quick progress in their move and had accelerated to the point they were in advanced talks to sign the US international.
There is now a fresh twist in the saga and Musah’s move to Napoli is being held up. This can lead to West Ham coming back in the hunt for the midfielder.
TuttoSport report the Italian champions have failed to take any key steps towards the signing. There is no agreement over a transfer fee and this has led to a slowdown in negotiations.
As a result, Milan are ‘expected to rekindle contacts’ with West Ham over Musah’s transfer. The Hammers have been in the mix and there seems confidence Milan can tempt them to make a move.
Milan want a ‘profitable transfer’ and the London club can help them achieve that objective, with a fee around €25m, including bonuses, being desired.
