Michael Gregoritsch can be very pleased with his season at Augsburg.
The 24 year old midfielder has scored 13 goals playing in a variety of attacking positions, sometimes even used upfront. So much has the Austrian impressed that he’s being ‘hunted by numerous top clubs’ report German magazine SportBild.
Two of those sides are Leicester City and Tottenham, and they join Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, and Borussia Monchengladbach.
SportBild have spoken to the footballer and he’s sending very mixed messages about a potential transfer this summer: “I’m not planning to go, but what happens then, you can never guess. I know from the club that they would have talks when there is an incredible offer.”
Augsburg paid Hamburg, who are likely bitterly regretting the move, €5.5m, and whilst SportBild say the player’s value on Transfermakrt is €13m, it’s stated interested clubs would have to part with ‘significantly more’ than that.
Gregoritsch says that each time he hears the Champions League anthem he gets goosebumps, and would love to play in the competition, something which would benefit any Tottenham attempt rather than leicester.
For now, this all looks to be firmly at the interest stage rather than anything more concrete.
