Yesterday, we covered the events at Sporting which could be leading some important players to leave the Lisbon club in the summer.
With fans turning against the squad captains, the departures of Rui Patrício and William Carvalho are now more likely. Especially for the goalkeeper, who confronted supporters after the 2-1 defeat to Marítimo.
A Bola has a story exactly about this today, saying some of the stars already have their ‘heads out’ of Alvalade, with the two captains leading the way out.
The story sounds interesting for Wolves fans, since Rui Patrício was linked to the club last week, and there hadn’t been many updates since then.
Unfortunately, the way they treat the rumour is not very favourable to the Championship winners. When naming possible destinations, A Bola only shows Napoli as a possible route for Patrício, completely ignoring the Wolves links.
Better news is: they claim that Sporting will try to sell the goalkeeper for something close to his €45m release clause. So since recent reports claimed Napoli won’t go over €20m, that could give Wolves another shot, and maybe more time to get him.
