Porto winger Yacine Brahimi is one of those players who are linked to a Premier League move every single summer. And it should be no different this year.
Portuguese newspaper A Bola feed the rumours, taking two different claims to talk about it.
First, from the Algerian press, where they say it’s the player’s desire to move to England. Then from the British media, where Everton and Newcastle United have been linked to him.
It’s great when love is mutual, and that’s what makes this rumour quite convenient. Now with Brahimi’s contract expiring in 2019, Porto will have to be taking action about his future.
A Bola claims that Brahimi wants to go on vacation with his situation resolved. That means Porto have to choose quickly if they want to renew his contract or sell him before he leaves for free next year.
The Portuguese champions are still to take a decision over it, and that’s why the player will press them to do it soon enough.
A Bola has no details on Everton’s and Newcastle’s approach for the player, so any approaches or bids are still unknown in Portugal. Brahimi has a €60m release clause at the club.
Whilst A Bola may be passing the blame to Algeria and England, its they and their Portuguese colleagues who brought this all up again, which led to spin off articles in the two countries mentioned.
