Nabil Fekir to Liverpool seems like it could be a real thing.
France’s Canal+ originally made the claim on Sunday and RMC have now gone out of their way to not only relay that claim, but to say they’ve had the same information confirmed to them: Liverpool and Lyon have agreed a deal.
RMC are pretty good for transfers from Ligue 1 to the Premier League, as are Canal. That doesn’t mean they’re infallible but it must be considered likely there’s something in these weekend claims.
The transfer fee to take Fekir from Lyon to Anfield is estimated at €70m. When it’s considered that includes bonus, so probably isn’t all guaranteed, it’s not a bad price for Liverpool.
Gérard Houllier, who works as an advisor to Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is said to have helped negotiate the deal, and travelled to England a few weeks ago on that business.
RMC say the signing is now ‘very likely’ and Liverpool will probably also get the player’s brother, Yassin Fekir.
Not only that, it’s claimed a move for Ousmane Dembele is also in the works.
Aulas has denied the claims, sort of.

The Lyon big cheese has a record of denying everything until he’s absolutely happy with a deal, which is fair enough.
Lyon are a proud club, and Aulas is their proud president. If the claims are correct he won’t be happy it’s come out without him having control over it.
