After Arsenal were put through a process of what felt like emotional blackmail and allowed Lucas Perez to return to Deportivo La Coruna on loan… it’s all gone terribly wrong.
Arsenal were the big bad guys not letting Perez return for a pittance and half a promise of a permanent deal somewhere down the line.
The Premier League club ultimately gave in and sent their player off on loan, but now he’s coming back.
Marca report that due to Depor being relegated, Perez is one of several players who will be returning to their parent clubs.
Staying in Spain to play in the second division is ‘not contemplated’.
There’s no mention of interest from any other clubs and this could prove a problem for Arsenal in the summer.
Perez has scored 6 goals and made 5 assists in 32 appearances this season and whilst that may catch the eye of some club in Spain, the 29 year old is on a Premier League contract lasting until 2020 and may not fancy a huge pay cut.
