It’s been a while, but we have a Yann M’Vila to the Premier League rumour.
The French midfielder was strongly and repeatedly linked with a move to Arsenal earlier on in his career but things went a little off track and M’Vila ended up at Rubin Kazan.
Loans to Inter Milan and Sunderland followed, before the 27 year old ended up signing for Saint-Etienne in January. The French club had an interesting transfer window, also bringing in Mathieu Debuchy and Neven Subotić, and it’s going rather well for them.
France Football say Crystal Palace are ‘very interested’ in making the signing.
There’s said to be contacts in place between Crystal Palace and someone else, presumably from the player’s circle, regarding a possible move.
M’Vila has spoken well of a potential return to English football and it would be no surprise if he’s tempted by the chance to join Palace and live in London. He signed a relatively short term contract with Saint-Etienne, which runs until June 2019 and would see a reasonable transfer fee.
Crystal Palace have been linked with a move for Anderlecht’s Leander Dendoncker recently and M’Vila could be seen as an alternative.
