Brighton and Hove Albion are yet to speak to Sevilla about Valentin Barco’s situation but do have an option to cancel his loan deal in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo and journalist Alonso Rivero on Canal Sur Radio, who say the Argentine’s future is yet to be defined.
The newspaper reports that Brighton have the option of ‘unilaterally breaking’ the loan deal as Barco is not featuring for Sevilla at this moment in time.
No scenario is ruled out at this moment in time and the club, and his entourage are keeping silent on the matter for now.
The reality, though, is that Barco had arrived from Brighton in the summer to be the new number one left back and is now ‘completely submerged in ostracism’. The loan is not working out and it would make sense for it to be cancelled.
According to Rivero, neither the British club nor the player have spoken about the situation as yet or hinted they would be ‘resorting to this route’ if the situation remains as it is.
However, it cannot be ruled out that it is an option that everyone is considering given Barco simply doesn’t count for Sevilla manager García Pimienta.
