On Wednesday, Mundo Deportivo threw some doubt on Barcelona signing Arthur from Gremio.
The club have already paid a €4m deposit, and will need to pay a further €36m in July to secure the signing. On top of that, Barcelona have agreed to another €9m in bonus payments for the midfielder.
The doubts are around Arthur’s height, with there supposedly being worry that at 1.72m he may not have the physical presence needed in Barca’s midfield going forward. Betis’ Fabian has been presented as the alternative.
But Sport have it very differently on Friday.
They say ‘there is no possibility’ the player will not end up at Barcelona, with the only question being whether he’ll arrive in the summer or next January.
Not going through with the deal is ‘a scenario that nobody has raised’ and there’s nothing set out in the contract for a penalty clause.
Barcelona’s coaches are said to be ‘delighted’ by the footballer, and it’s stated again there’s ‘no possibility’ he won’t end up wearing the blaugrana shirt.
