Premier League clubs seem to be finally getting closer to making their bids for São Paulo defender Éder Militão.

The report is actually made by the Portuguese press, where there’s been some big interest in this chase, as Porto are also said to be in the race.

Newspaper A Bola claims Chelsea and Manchester City, both interested on the player, could be advancing with bids ‘very soon’.

But it shouldn’t be very easy for them to take the player. Even though claims from Brazil have been saying that €2m could be enough to sign him, A Bola claims that a Portuguese club, unnamed, has already offered €10m for 70% of his rights.

Since Premier League clubs are not allowed to buy only a percentage of the player, they shouldn’t only surpass that amount, but also bid for the 100%, making it a little more expensive.

Manchester City’s interest in Militão was reported everywhere last week, but this is the first time we’ve been reading about Chelsea’s chase in a report that is not from England.

Both clubs would have the chance to sign the player on a pre-contract at the end of the season, since his current deal with São Paulo expires in January next year. But with all these sides interested, some millions will have to be spent in order to guarantee the signing before the competition.
