Don Balon have continued their obsession with regards to Real Madrid’s pursuit of Liverpool forward Mohammed Salah by claiming they could use Karim Benzema in a possible deal.
Yes, really.
Salah has been a revelation since his move from AS Roma to Liverpool last summer, and last weekend the forward scored his 40th goal of the season.
The Spanish outlet report it’s an ‘open secret’ the Champions League holders will look to offload Benzema in the next window, and they’re hoping Liverpool will take the Frenchman off their hands in a deal which sees Salah move to Spain, plus cash obviously.
However, it seems very optimistic the Merseyside club would be interested in bringing Benzema to Anfield. It’s reported Jurgen Klopp wouldn’t be very interested in the former Lyon man, and especially if it meant Salah going the other way.
Klopp has not deployed an out and out centre forward has paid off for Liverpool this season and given the form of Frimino it doesn’t make sense bringing in a No.9 like Benzema. Especially one out of form.
Don Balon won’t let go of this, and that’s now Gareth Bale and Benzema who their imagination has tried to send to Liverpool.
