The European chase for Boca Juniors left-back Frank Fabra continues, and it seems like it won’t take much long for a club to bring him to the Old Continent.

Last month, the player’s agent confirmed to Sport Witness that both Everton and Napoli are keen on signing him. Now the chase got hotter in the past few weeks.

Speaking to Sport Witness on Wednesday, representative José Constanzo has confirmed that a transfer may be closer, and more English clubs could be joining Everton in the race.

“We’re advancing with many clubs,” Constanzo explained. “I believe he will end up playing in the Premier League.”

The official confirmed that “not only Everton” are among the pretenders from English football.

Earlier this week, website Bola Vip had a story claiming Boca Juniors would be demanding €30m for the transfer, an amount which could cool down the interest from some clubs.

But Constanzo has confirmed his last statements, saying the release clause is US$16m: “Boca never asked 30 million. The clause is of 16, they will never ask double.”

Fabra’s entourage is expected to have further talks with European clubs by the end of the month. Meanwhile, he’s an important piece for Boca Juniors’ campaign in the Copa Libertadores, along with the likes of Fernando Gago, Carlos Tevez and Cristian Pavón.
