It’s been over an year since Anderson Talisca started being linked to Wolves.

The rumours first showed up when the player was still at Benfica. The move to the Championship side would be a way for him to get a work permit and later join Liverpool, which didn’t make a great deal of sense at the time.

Now loaned to Besiktas, the Brazilian midfielder continues to be involved in Wolves rumours, with the latest updates having come from Turkey this week. This time, the Reds are not involved.

And the transfer would make even more sense if one of Wolverhampton’s midfielders leaves the club this summer, right?

Could that be the case of Ruben Neves, who Stan Collymore considers to be good enough and ready to play for Liverpool next season?

So here’s a new rumour that makes everything fit. According to Brazilian journalist Marcus Alves, who actually lives in Portugal, Neves and Talisca could both be making these moves.

The report claims the negotiations, which are handled by the players’ agent Jorge Mendes, are currently ongoing. They would bring Talisca to Wolves and Ruben Neves to Liverpool.

In a coincidence of timing, the claims appeared just after Collymore’s quotes had been translated and published in the Portuguese media.

There are no details over fees or how advanced things are. Marcus makes it clear that nothing is done yet, and the deal is all ‘concentrated’ on Jorge Mendes’ work.

Wolves being linked with a rash of transfers after promotion will have been exciting for fans, but inevitable Neves exit claims will be rather annoying.
