Southampton target Paco Alcácer doesn’t seem very certain he’ll be leaving Barcelona for another club at the end of the season.
Even though the striker has only 13 league appearances this season, newspaper Mundo Deportivo reports today that he’s keen on fighting for his place at the Catalan side.
According to the outlet, the player has already told the club his intentions, and is still to be convinced that he should move in the summer.
Mundo Deportivo recalls that many clubs are attentive to his situation at Barça, especially expecting that this little game time could favour a move soon.
The very same Mundo Deportivo had a story on Tuesday saying that Southampton are one of this sides, having tried to sign the striker ‘a few months ago’.
The outlet made it clear that the Saints’ chances on the transfer would completely depend on the club’s fight against relegation. There would be no way Alcacer would leave Barcelona to join a Championship side.
With Barcelona needing money for the summer, it’s clear that the desire of a sale comes more from the club than from the player. The Catalan side would certainly be up for a good offer, but convincing Alcacer seems to be the biggest problem for now.
