Jann Fiete Arp to Tottenham has been picking up pace this week in the German media.
This week’s edition of SportBild claimed Spurs are set to intensify their efforts to sign Arp, and have the advantage of the Hamburg striker being a Tottenham fan.
Now there’s an update from Hamburger Morgenpost, and there’s good news and bad news for those Spurs fans who’d quite like the youngster at their club.
Firstly, the good news. MoPo freshly state Tottenham are keen on the player, adding to the SportBild claim Spurs are set to pick up their efforts.
That’s positive, with now at least two good German sources claiming Mauricio Pochettino’s side want Arp.
The bad news, and it could be very bad news, is that Bayern Munich are also in the picture.
MoPo believe the Bundesliga champions are now on pole, and would have a plan to see Arp go somewhere else first, before later getting into the Bayern squad.
Bayern coming in was probably predictable given their ability to hoover up German talent, but it doesn’t mean such a move is a forgone conclusion.
Tottenham still have a chance, it’s just going to be more difficult.
