Over the past few weeks, there’s been a few rumours sending Napoli’s Jorginho to the Premier League, with Liverpool and Manchester United the most regular destinations.

Following a very brief and strange interest (and bid) from Bournemouth in the summer, the Italy international has enjoyed a great season with the Serie A side, scoring four goals and picking up four assists in 30 appearances.

With a contract tying him to Naples until 2020, there doesn’t appear to be a rush for Aurelio de Laurentiis to renew the 26-year-old’s contract, yet that’s something his agent is already thinking about, as he explained to Radio CRC, using the Red Devils’ alleged interest to talk up his client.

Relayed by Calciomercato, he said: “The English tabloids always talk about Jorginho because he’s doing well, and a lot of English teams are lacking a player like Jorginho. Like Manchester United, for example, but we haven’t any requests, and I’m emphasising that.

“I like English football, so does Jorginho, but I’m not saying I’ll take him to England at the end of the season, but only that it’s normal for my client to be on the radar of great clubs. Clubs can be interested in Jorginho, but the priority is to renew with Napoli.”

Joao Santos also made it clear that he hadn’t spoke to any English tabloids recently, including the Sun, who recently claimed they spoke to him about interest from big English clubs such as José Mourinho’s side, Manchester City and Arsenal.

The agent seems keen to sit on the fence, but the mention of liking English football is certainly a hint Jorginho could be up for the move.
